Home Staging
Home staging is one of the hottest trend in residential real estate nowadays. Home staging definitely makes a difference when you first put your home on the market and show it to potential clients.
What is home staging? It is as it says: home staging. Decorating and organizing your home that gives potential buyers a “welcome” feel. Home staging varies depending on one’s needs. Most homes that are being sold vacant will definitely benefit from home staging. An empty home most often drive buyers away, because let’s face it, not all of us are born with ideas and designs playing in our heads all the time so a potential client who walks in a beautiful EMPTY home will walk away and be overwhelmed by the vast empty space. Home staging gives the buyer plenty of ideas if they decide to purchase the home.
Sellers on a tight budget can benefit from home staging by doing it themselves. Removing clutter, children’s items, family photos and anything personal that belongs to the sellers is a good start. De-cluttering is the basic of all home staging. Remove boxes of stuff from the garage, move them to storage, park a car or 2 to show potential clients the utilized space. Home staging need not be a daunting task, simple de-cluttering and paint touch-ups would most certainly do the trick. Light up the fireplace if you have one, the old baking a cookie before an open house trick can do a lot of “odor” masking.
For high-end sellers, staging is the only way to go especially if you want to protect your prized possessions. Remember, you are not showing your gallery of art, but you are selling you home so by investing in a good home staging company, you’ll be certain that your valued items are out of harms way.
Staging costs vary and it all depends on your needs and the amount of space to be staged.
